What is it?

The Care Closet is a project established by a committee of Calhoun Middle School faculty and staff in 2022. Its mission is to serve students who are facing financial challenges and in need of a little help obtaining daily necessities such as school supplies, snacks, clothing, and hygiene products. If these basic needs can be met, it will then allow students the opportunity to focus on their education. The closet will be managed by the committee as well as members of the CMS Student Council, who will be in charged of organizing and sorting the inventory.

How It Works

Any student in need due to financial difficulties is eligible to use the services of the Care Closet. Personal hygiene items, snacks, clothing, and school supplies may be requested. The Care Closet is a confidential student resource for all in need.

Submit a request by filling out the form here

You have the option of filling in the self-referral section at the top of the form or anonymously referring another student by filling out the bottom portion as well. Once you have completed the form, one of the Care Closet committee members, an administrator, or the counselor will gather the needed items and deliver them to you or the student you referred.
