7th ELA SEPT 8-11

TUES/WED –   students who have their binders and have not received their workbooks will do so

                      we will watch a short video on the constitution and complete a corresponding worksheet

                      we will go over the Preamble and complete workbook page 8

                     students will receive and go over their vocabulary handouts that they will be tested on next week (tentative)

                     students will be given their study guides to be completed at home as we navigate through the novel

                     students will watch video2 and fill out worksheet

                     students will watch video 3 and fill out worksheet

HOMEWORK- COMPLETE ANY UNFINSHED CLASSWORK

                        STUDY THE 10 HIGHLIGHTED VOCABULARY WORDS

                       WORK THE VOCABULARY CROSSWORD PUZZLE

                       READ CH. 1 OF THE GIVER AND COMPLETE THE CORRESPONDING QUESTIONS ON THE STUDY GUIDE

THURS-          go over/take up/check forcompleted homework

                        reread chapter 1 and discuss

                       review vocab

                       students work 2 handouts for vocabulary words

                      go over conversation stems (wb p 39)

                      students will write three claims about themselves and back up with at least two peices of evidence (examples, reasons, anecdotes ...)

HOMEWORK-  COMPLETE ANY UNFINISHED WORK IN CLASS

                         WRITE A ONE-PAGE DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY PIECE ABOUT YOURSELF. YOU MAY USE THE CLAIM YOU WROTE IN CLASS, OR COME UP 

                        WITH ANOTHER ONE. HIGHLIGHT YOUR CLAIM STATEMENT AND MAKE SURE THAT ALL YOUR SUPPORTING DETAILS SUPPORT YOUR 

                        HIGHLIGHTED CLAIM. 

FRI-              CHECK FOR COMPLETED HWK

                     STUDENTS WILL TAKE A DIAGNOTSTICS TEST ON CHROMEBOOK TO SEE WHERE THEY STAND ACADEMICALLY FOR THEIR 7th GRADE 

                      YEAR. THIS WILL NEED TO BE MADE UP IF A STUDENT IS ABSENT.
